An artist designed play space created for under 5’s and their families at The Tetley Gallery in the heart of Leeds
Tiny Tetley Studio
Using play and contemporary art to create an alternative to commercial spaces for children and their families, this popular play space is completely free for families to visit. The design is inspired by the Art Deco Style of the gallery building, and developed post covid, uses symmetry of form to encourage reciprocal and social forms of play. Activities in the space have been designed to allow the free repetition of schemas.
One year after it’s launch, the gallery has seen a huge rise in footfall and Tiny Tetley Studio has welcomed 9000 visitors and sold 4000 family passes. The Tetley Bar & Kitchen has introduced a high quality menu for babies and toddlers and the project is hailed a huge success and…

Tiny Tetley Studio features a bespoke sound installation by Buffalo Sound Design, play structures designed and built in collaboration with Three Create, and crocheted breastfeeding aids from Leeds Bosom Buddies.
